Vibrancy in the Foliage – Green Tit by S Jayaraj

The Green-backed Tit is a small, colorful bird found in the mountain forests of Asia. It spends its day hopping through tree branches, eating small insects and seeds, often hanging upside down while searching for food. In this vivid watercolour work, artist S Jayaraj captures the lively energy of a Green Tit with remarkable sensitivity and painterly flair. The bird's luminous yellow breast serves as a striking focal point, illuminated further by contrast against its deep black crest and crisp white cheek patch. Carrying a small morsel in its beak, the tit becomes a symbol of the quiet, purposeful rhythms of wild life. Through this piece, Jayaraj turns a fleeting, natural encounter into a glowing homage to the beauty hidden within the forest canopy.
