Crimson Flame – Northern Carmine Bee-Eater by S Jayaraj

In this stunning mixed-media collage, S Jayaraj captures the dazzling brilliance and exotic flair of the Northern Carmine Bee-Eater with masterly colour confidence. Perched thoughtfully on a thick, diagonal wooden branch, the bird's elongated silhouette and long tail streamers anchor a composition bursting with fiery, saturated tones. Through this dynamic synthesis of bold graphic paper cut-outs and loose, expressive watercolour, Jayaraj captures not just the physical likeness of this spectacular avian traveller, but the vibrant, heat-charged spirit of its African savanna home.
