Vortex - Allegory of Love 1 - Daksha

The ideating process of this series “ Allegory of Love “ is to showcase a fictional romance through symbols- the “marapaachi dolls “ The wooden dolls are always made in pairs out of red sandalwood. It has its origin in southern India from ancient times and depicts husband and wife referred to as Raja and Rani symbolizing prosperity and fertility.
 
This work titled Vortex resembles a whirlpool with its circular motion. This has been rendered with the idea of bringing together the pieces and parts of the spiritual make-up of two people to create balance and harmony in the body.
